Apple has already had a loud year - the MacBook Neo, a mid-cycle price increase nobody enjoyed, and a WWDC built around Siri AI. Its biggest hardware moment - the September iPhone event - has now been and gone. The MacRumors round-up published on 1 July counted at least 16 products still to come in 2026. Several have now landed, so here is what actually shipped and what is genuinely still on the way.
Products Apple has now released are marked as shipped. The rest are still well-sourced rumour - what the supply chain and reliable reporters expect, not confirmed Apple announcements.
2026 Apple launch timeline at a glance
The short version of what is expected and roughly when - all still well-sourced rumour, not confirmed:
- September (now shipped): the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and AirPods 5. Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, was unveiled alongside them and goes on sale on 23 October.
- Announced, shipping soon: the Mac Studio (M5 Max and M5 Ultra) and Mac mini (M6 and M5 Pro), both announced on 25 August and on sale from 22 September.
- Still to come in 2026: a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6, an M6 iMac, a new Home Hub, a new Apple TV and an updated HomePod mini.
- Timing unconfirmed: an OLED iPad mini is expected by late October; the redesigned touchscreen MacBook may slip into early 2027.
- Not until spring 2027: the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, and the entry-level 12th-gen iPad, which slipped out of 2026.
iPhone: the 18 Pro and Apple's first foldable
The headline event of the year was the September iPhone launch, and it delivered.
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max shipped with the A20 Pro chip - the first phone chip on a 2-nanometer process - a 48MP main camera with a variable aperture from f/1.48 to f/4.0, storage up to 2TB, and a new burgundy finish. They start at £1,199 and £1,299.
Alongside them, Apple's first foldable iPhone finally arrived - and it is officially called the iPhone Duo, not the iPhone Ultra or Fold the rumours guessed. It is a book-style phone that starts at £1,999, with pre-orders from 16 October and general sale on 23 October. One thing to note: the standard iPhone 18 and the cheaper iPhone 18e were not part of this September wave. Those are expected in spring 2027.
iPad: a new entry model and an OLED mini
Two iPads are on the list, and the smaller one is the more exciting.
- iPad (12th gen): a modest bump, moving from the A16 to an A18 or A19 chip so it would finally support Apple Intelligence. It has now slipped to early 2027.
- iPad mini: the bigger story, and still expected in 2026 - reports point to an A19 Pro or A20 chip, an OLED display, a new speaker system and a water-resistant design, expected by late October. That would be the most substantial mini update in years.
Mac: M5 and M6 across the line
The Mac roadmap is dense, spanning a straightforward chip bump and one genuine redesign.
- MacBook Pro: a new 14-inch base model with the M6 chip.
- MacBook "Ultra": the big one. A major MacBook Pro redesign, expected late 2026 or early 2027, reportedly with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, an OLED display, a touch screen, a Dynamic Island and a thinner body.
- Mac Studio: announced on 25 August with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, on sale from 22 September.
- Mac mini: announced on 25 August as the first Mac with the M6 chip, alongside an M5 Pro option, on sale from 22 September.
- iMac: an M6 refresh with new colours, still expected later in 2026.
If you have been holding out for a touchscreen Mac, the redesigned MacBook is the one to watch - though its timing may slip into early 2027.
Home and TV: a new Home Hub, finally
This is where Apple's Siri AI push gets a dedicated piece of hardware.
- Home Hub: an all-new smart home device built around the more personalised Siri, with a 6 to 7-inch square display, an A18 chip for Apple Intelligence, and FaceTime support. After years of rumours, this looks like the year it ships.
- Apple TV: a new model is expected with a faster chip for the personalised Siri and Apple's N1 networking chip for Wi-Fi 7.
- HomePod and HomePod mini are also expected to get updates.
The usual September suspects
Apple also refreshed the wearables at the September event - the Apple Watch Series 12, the rugged Apple Watch Ultra 4, and the new AirPods 5. Those, together with the Mac and home updates, are what made up MacRumors' "at least 16" for the year.
When is it all launching?
The marquee products landed at Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event on 9 September 2026, with pre-orders on 12 September and the phones on sale from 18 September. The iPhones, Apple Watch and AirPods headlined. The Mac, Home Hub and Apple TV updates are trickling out across the final quarter of the year, with the redesigned MacBook potentially slipping into early 2027.
There is one shadow over all of it: the memory shortage driving Apple's price rises. Several of these products could launch more expensive than their predecessors, so if something here is on your list, it is worth budgeting for a little more than last year's equivalent.
